Instagram Tour with "Barcelona Travel Girls"

I’ve been on many trips by myself but this was my first out-of-country trip solita. I’m a huge fan of a cute travel pic opportunity- after all, we want to remember the experience of our travels when we are back home! But before I left, I was already worrying about how I was going to build the courage to set up my tripod and take some photos, all the while hoping no one laughs at me.

Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to find any events during my time there, so it was looking like it was going to be just me and my tripod!

I landed in Barcelona around 10 pm and went straight to my hotel to excitedly prepare my backpack for my Barcelona Travel Girls tour the next morning at 9 am. I was nervous because I was by myself, but I was excited to explore the city with someone my age. When you’re touring a city with around 30 other people and a boring tour guide? It’s not so fun. I headed to Plaça Reial to meet up with Sol, one of the founders of Barcelona Travel Girls and we began our tour! 

As you can see from the photos, much of Barcelona has a beautiful gothic architecture which was wonderful to snap some photos of during the tour.

As a Latina from South Texas from the border town of Mexico, it was amazing to just explore the city with my new friend and learn about our different Spanish dialects and history. I can honestly say my experience with Barcelona Travel Girls was more than I expected. I made a new friend and an experience I will always remember when I look back at these photos. It was certainly a unique and unforgettable experience.
